Iceland May Have No Ice in The Future

According to scientific news, photographers used drones to film Icelandic glaciers. The photographer compared these photographs with aerial photographs taken in the 1980s. By contrast, these photos are very different. In the past few decades, these glaciers have melted faster and faster.
For this issue, some researchers pointed out that unless we greatly reduce the dependence on fossil fuels. Otherwise, after a hundred years, there will be almost no ice in these areas. That is to say, because we use fossil fuels in large quantities, it causes the problem of climate warming. The end result is the accelerated melting of these glaciers.
Although, what is mentioned in the scientific report is only a comparison of the situation in parts of Iceland. However, the accelerated melting of glaciers is a global problem. That is to say, the phenomenon that the glaciers are accelerating and melting has also appeared in other areas. According to scientific reports, in the remote archipelago near Russia's Arctic, there is a "new land" composed of five unknown islands.
The emergence of these new islands is not caused by geological activities. The reason is that because of the warming of the climate, the glaciers in these areas have melted, and finally these islands have been exposed. As the warming of the climate continues, I believe that more new islands will emerge. For this issue, the United Nations report in 2019 has pointed out that sea level is expected to rise by about 60 centimeters by 2100. If greenhouse gas emissions continue to increase, sea level rise may reach around 110 cm in 2100. In the long run, this problem is more serious and worth pondering.
If you want to say that the biggest problem brought by the melting of glaciers is the thaw of frozen soil. Some creatures frozen in the frozen soil may reappear in the world. Of course, it is hard to say whether these creatures can survive. From the perspective of protecting the current ecosystem, the emergence of new creatures may not be good news. How do we face these microbes and organisms that may appear? That's really hard to say.
