The southern coast is very different, where the water flow is significantly calmer. There are many small bays on the coastline of Curaçao. The buildings in Curaçao are colourful. There are relatively high educational resources and education systems. A stable source of income makes Curaçao more affluent than some other Caribbean countries.
A feature of Curaçao is diving. Within a few hundred meters from the shoreline, you can access the coral reef without a boat. This steep seabed terrain is known locally as the "blue edge." Strong currents and rare beaches make it difficult for people to swim and dive on the northern coast of Curaçao. Divers with a wealth of experience sometimes dive from the allowed locations.
